Lady Raiders dominate!

Cibola softball overwhelms Yuma

YUMA, Ariz. - The Cibola softball team is coming off impressive wins over Imperial and Basha with a more youthful lineup than last season.

Meanwhile, the Yuma Criminals under 1st year head coach Jessica Gastelum are still looking for their identity; suffering 2 tough losses to open up the season.

Both teams would meet for the 1st time this Spring on Yuma's west side.

It didn't take long to see the momentum was continuing for the Lady Raiders.

From the outset, Cibola was in control in virtually every facet of the game, as Sophomore starting pitcher Ginnellie Cordova was almost unhittable; throwing a complete game 1-hitter, while getting 4 strikeouts.

Meanwhile, the Lady Criminals had no answers for Cibola's bats, as the Lady Raiders piled on 15 runs in 4 innings.

The 1-sided contest would see the Lady Raiders take the 15-0 win.

Cibola continues at home next week, while Yuma plays a pair of games in the Imperial Valley.
