YUMA, Ariz. - One of more dominant prep long distance runners in our area since the days of Bernie Montoya has now made his collegiate decision.
Cibola Raiders cross country and track and field star Thomas Cain has signed his letter of intent with Central Arkansas.
Cain's decision came down to where he would best improve as a long distance runner and a potential launching pad to his ultimate goal:
"I definitely want to go to the Olympics. That would be something great to do. Central Arkansas I thought is the best place to give me that stepping stone to get there; to the next level."
Among Cain's accomplishments at Cibola; he became the Division 1 - Section 3 individual champion this spring, he had the fastest time in cross country this year, and he was the state champion in the 2-mile run in 2017.
