Wrong end of a rally

YC volleyball loses a 5-set heartbreaker

YUMA, Ariz. - Yuma Catholic volleyball is coming off "mixed results" in their latest regional tournament appearance in Lake Havasu; looking for a potential "statement match" as they played host to state power Parker on Tuesday night.

The Shamrocks brought the intensity early, as they were able to capture the 1st and 2nd sets; each decided by less than 5 points.

Taylor Walton and Veronica Saco both had key roles in getting YC the early advantage; as they would each go on to notch 8 kills apiece on the night.

Unfortunately, a sluggish 3rd set would set up a rally for the Broncs that would see the Rocks fall short on the final 3 sets; taking the heart-breaking 5-set loss.

Rori Martinez and team captain Ali Schmunk would combine for 8 aces in the loss.

YC will try to bounce back against American Leadership Academy on Thursday night.
