PHOENIX, Ariz. - A Phoenix State Trooper was arrested Tuesday on 61 counts of sex related, kidnapping, and fraud charges.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) say they arrested Tremaine Jackson on charges of sexual abuse, sexual extortion, kidnapping, harassment, and fraud after investigating complaints made by the public.
Eight victims have been identified so far, and AZDPS encourages potential victims to come forward.
Jackson was said to work for AZDPS for 13 years, and most recently was assigned to the department's Metro Motors District.
The department says in early June they received a complaint of misconduct against Jackson, saying he allegedly committed an act of sexual assault against a woman at a traffic stop.
Jackson was immediately placed on administrative leave, and an investigation was conducted. It was during the investigation where additional victims were said to be discovered.
"The Arizona Department of Public Safety deeply regrets the reprehensible acts perpetrated by Tremaine Jackson. Jackson broke all trust with the community and the Department. We will continue to investigate any new leads or information" said Colonel Frank Milstead, AZDPS Director.
AZDPS says if you or someone you know has been victimized by Jackson, to contact them at 602-223-2389 or submit information online at: azdps.gov/jackson
